ABOUT ME

Christopher Girodat is a non-profit professional and consultant, with a decade of experience in management and executive level roles, especially in the advanced education space, and a past life in big-box retail. Chris is currently the executive director of the Capilano Students' Union.

​Chris has led employers through bargaining negotiations (including for initial agreements); established comprehensive occupational health and safety management systems; organized conferences, including a four-day conference for student-focused nonprofit professionals, with nearly 200 delegates from across Canada; and led boards through organizational transformations including bylaw overhauls, strategic planning processes, and other complex governance challenges.

Chris has a passion for board games (actual board games, not board meeting politics) and good food, and is always happy to share governance stories over a glass of wine (the sweeter the better). Chris' outlook is informed by a background in non-profit advocacy work, and his experiences as a queer person in Vancouver. He's also spends spare time contributing to the leadership of 100 Gay Men YVR.
